Comparing Salaries

On my flight home from Colorado I read an article about a new website that provides a sneak peek of coworkers salaries. I’ve been trying to remember the name of that site for days. Today J.D., over at Get Rich Slowly, saved the day, by posting a link to it.

The website is called glassdoor.com. It provides a forum for individuals to anonymously provide detailed salary information, including base salary, cash bonuses, stock bonuses and profit sharing. If you create an account you can log on to view salaries within your own company as well as salaries for similar jobs elsewhere.

After viewing the salaries on the website, I confirmed my suspicion, I am well paid in my current position.

  1. It’s so odd sometimes to see salary things for the business sector. In much of education (K-12 and higher) salaries are often in the public domain and it’s very carefully controlled as to how you’re paid (years of experience + degree, etc).
