Reflecting On and Counting My Blessings

Do you ever wonder what your friends might say about you? How would they categorize your view on life, your outlook on the world and the choices and decisions you make on a daily basis? Well I can’t say for certain, but I think my friends would say that I strive to recognize the blessings in this world and to treasure those blessings to the best of my ability.

Why do I think that? Well a couple of them gave me cards this week that echoed that very sentiment.

As I’ve mentioned before I didn’t always have this outlook on life. A bout with a serious medical condition forced me to step back from my day-to-day life. After days, months and years of reflection I’ve learned to live in the moment as often as I can. I desire to live in a conscious, fully aware state that enables me to treasure the people and experiences in my life. Of course, this is impossible, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t keep trying.

This past weekend I was surrounded by a world of people I truly love. I am grateful for them and for every moment I get to share with them. In fact, I couldn’t ask for a greater group of people to share in my joys and sorrows. While I may not have all of the money in the world I am wealthy in friendship and family beyond measure.
