I’ve spent the last four weeks watching my mom suffer. She’s been laying in a hospital bed since mid-March. A sudden and unexpected intestinal perforation has shut down her entire digestive system. She is unable to eat or drink. A nasogastric tube is the only thing preventing her from aspirating.
No one could have predicted this would happen. The doctors aren’t even sure what perforated her intestines. As I watch her writhe in pain I feel entirely helpless. I hope that the doctors will fix her ailments, but I am also incredibly fearful.
I think a lot about money, but this is a stark reminder that money cannot fix everything.
So sorry to hear your mom is struggling. When someone we live is hurting, it’s such a stark reminder that money isn’t everything.
Thank you for the kind comment. By the way I miss reading your posts.
I’m so sorry to hear your mom is suffering so badly – and that is such a scary thing to be suffering from. Sending all the good recovery wishes we have, and more.
Thank you for your kind words.
