Oh it is so easy to become accustomed to the current state of things! There have been times when I yearned for something so badly, but hardly batted an eyelash once I received my prize. As I age I am getting better at appreciating the small things in my life. It’s so easy to become accustomed to the current state of everything. Even when it’s great, that becomes the norm and what’s great becomes average. It’s only in hindsight when the norm changes to something else that we realize what we had.

I suppose I can be here, (in the present), because we are so far along in our journey to a better future. Thank you for that reminder. It helps me take pause and feel grateful. It was a lot more difficult to feel fully in the present when I was chasing financial goals that shined far into the distance. You are making immense progress towards your “better” future.
