I guess I didn’t make it clear. You don’t register for duplicates. You register for the ‘big’ items on Amazon and the smaller stuff at Target/Babies-R-Us, etc. That way the big items you don’t need to touch can be ordered and shipped at cheaper prices and the smaller stuff can be viewed and touched in stores if people prefer. Amazon also has a completion discount. I think it’s 10% off all remaining items and since Amazon is already cheaper so before my son was born I added everything to Amazon before closing out my registry.

how do you make sure that you don’t receive duplicate items though? say you register for the babyseat at both target and amazon? what if you get two? do you just return it?
also, does amazon offer the discount that target does? i heard that if you register at target, they give you a discount on all the items that weren’t bought
