I am working my way through the easy ones and saving up for expensive experiences aka the cruise around the world.

I look forward to early retirement but its my short-term goals (aka life list) that keeps my sanity year to year.

They cut out entertainment and experiences with family and friends way past what is reasonable. Money is one of life’s biggest tools, and like any other tool you should use it to improve your life and the lives of others. And having fun is definitely part of that. We have a small boat we fish out of, we have cars we enjoy driving and we drive a lot. We take trips with our friends, some short trips to hike and some across oceans. All that is money well spent in our opinion. But we also do not spend more than we can comfortably afford, and that amount is much higher now than when we were early in my career and raising kids. But even then we made having fun a priority, because life is short and nobody knows how short that could be. Great post!
