Hi Shirley, I’m glad you found this post hopeful. I have missed a paycheck and struggled with the decision to forgo money from time to time, but I have never regretted my decision to stay-at-home with my children. When I reflect on my life, I will think about it more fondly than any other period in my life.

This resonates so much with me. I plan on leaving my high paying job (and forgoing all the promotions, bonuses and benefits) so I can live a simpler (but fuller) life being a stay at home mom. I always thought that I will climb the corporate ladder but somehow through the years, my definition of success has changed. I now want to live a truly meaningful life being true to myself and doing what I feel/know to be important.
