We took everything apart before storing it. There is no way it would have fit otherwise. That’s an interesting point though. As silly as it sounds, maybe they didn’t consider that option 🙂

I was a little torn about lending things, because you never know if someone else will take care of it the same way you would. I felt like the things I lent were in essence given away so that I wasn’t heart broken if they weren’t returned. Did you have good luck lending things out?

Not everyone has a huge attic but even if it is small, they can dismantle the units and squeeze stuff up there in random places. If it truly is that tiny, though, get a firman to approve. A certain amount of ventilation is necessary to prevent a fire from spreading rapidly (as contrary as that sounds since fire needs oxygen).

Even better than selling stuff and rebuking new or used would be to loan out things they don’t currently need to others with kids – no storage fees for them and no cost to the other family. Like you, we had room to store all our stuff from our first kid, but I’ve been lending out anything that will get used as well. Why let it go to waste?
