Has Anyone Applied for a Mortgage with ING Direct?

Last Updated on November 19, 2019 by One Frugal Girl 4 Comments

If anyone out there has applied for a mortgage with ING Direct would you mind posting your thoughts here. A very kind reader named Evy left me a comment, so I took a look this evening. Their mortgage rates are rock bottom but they are not fixed for the life of the loan. I’d love to hear from any of you that might have gone through the ING process and actually acquired a mortgage.

Trent at The Simple Dollar answered a question about these loans–and said that they were ARM's. You can search his site and get his take on them, if you value his opinion.

In my opinion, no reason for an ARM right now. If your reader can not afford the mortgage with a fixed rate, there's rarely a reason to go for an ARM.

Rates won't stay this low forever…

I applied for a ING Direct mortgage a while ago, and it was a very easy and customer friendly process. That's all I can say, because I did not continue with the process, as it did not make sense at the time. I will say that you need to have at least 25% equity to make use of it though.
