Three Sizes Bigger!

Last updated on February 2, 2012 by One Frugal Girl1 Comment

I’ll be a bridesmaid and eight months pregnant for a family wedding in September. I ordered the dress this evening and was told to order three sizes larger than my current size. I figured I’d need a size or two larger, but I’m pretty surprised that they suggested such a large dress. The dress has an empire waist, but the assistants at the shop said there is very little give in the waist and bust.

I have no idea if I’ll actually need such a large size, but I was worried that a smaller dress would not fit when the big day arrives. Of course, the price tag for alternations is nearly as much as the price of the dress, but let’s face it I can’t show up to the wedding without the required bridesmaid dress.

I sure hope I don’t gain so much weight in the next four months that I really need a dress that is three sizes bigger than my current size!

I was matron of honor when I was 6 months pregnant and I did have to buy a second dress because the one the bride bought me didn't fit just a couple months after she bought it. It isn't really just the weight you gain, it's how your body changes- mostly your boobs, to be frank! ๐Ÿ™‚ I would recommend getting the larger dress, mostly because it is more important for you to be as comfortable as possible that far into your pregnancy.
