Last night I arrived home late from work again. It was nearing 7:30 and I was tired, both from work and from sitting in traffic for over an hour. My husband typically makes dinner on the nights I work in the office, so I came home hungry and ready to eat. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the house my husband was no where to be found. I searched the refrigerator for signs of defrosted chicken or meat or pasta or anything, but nothing had been prepared.
As I picked up the mail and fed the cat I heard him open the door. I definitely wasn’t in the mood to start cooking so I asked if he wanted to go to Noodles & Company. He gave me that, “we’re eating out look”, but I told him it was late, we were hungry and best of all, dinner would be inexpensive.
Noodles & Company emailed me a free meal coupon for my birthday. I also received a buy-one-get-one free coupon for a spaghetti and meatballs meal a few weeks earlier. We took both coupons in hand along with a previously used gift card and headed out the door.
It turns out the gift card only had 11 cents left on it, but with the help of two coupons we purchased three meals for the price of one! We ate two in the restaurant and my husband took the third one to lunch today.
Hooray for restaurants that provide special savings on your birthday! Tomorrow I’m using another free coupon at Moe’s Southwest Grill!
