As I mentioned on Friday I suddenly find myself with a long to-do list that never seems to end. Add to that the beginning of pregnancy brain, (the failure to remember why I went into the living room or where on earth I put my juice), and you have a recipe for letting things slip.
Last week I took a Netflix DVD out to the car and then forgot to mail it before heading to work. This week I noticed a plastic bag in the trunk and realized I’d completely forgotten to return a pair of maternity capris I decided I don’t really like. I placed the pants in the bag, along with the receipt, but completely forgot to actually drive to the store to return them.
Of course, as luck would have it, I was one day past the thirty day expiration for returns, which means I received store credit rather than getting my money back. The good news is that I wasn’t stuck with something I don’t want. At least the store allowed me to return the item for credit.
I’ve created a master to-do list this week that includes every little thing I can possibly think of, including drop off such-and-such in the mail and defrost chicken tonight. Nothing is too big or small to go on the list. It seems a little silly to keep track of such small matters, but it feels good to write things down so I won’t forget them.
Don't feel bad – this is only going to get worse as time goes on, especially when you're nursing. We always called it "milk brain!"
Congratulations, and be sure to get plenty of rest.
